Sensational outside linebacker Steve Edmond is reported to be close to committing to the Longhorns. The Daingerfield, Texas, standout is reported to be close to picking Texas over Oklahoma, Southern Cal, the Aggies and a host of lesser schools.

Edmond made nearly two hundred tackles last season, plus over thirty tackles for loss and five interceptions. On top of that, he has good size. If he picks the Longhorns, most "experts," based on actual on the location evaluations and videotape, expect him to play as a true freshman. Strong stuff, but true!
