Trevon Hughes, regarded by many as at least the best point guard in the Midwest, possibly the country, has accepeted an offer to play for Bo Ryan at Wisconsin. The 6-3, 185 pound Hughes, a New Yorker by birth, has played for St. John's Military Academy in Delafield, Wisconsin, since eighth grade.
Hughes had narrowed his choices to include Wisconsin and Iowa, but his family had wanted him to consider St. John's of New York, Connecticut, Rutgers and Georgia. All had been rejected several months ago.
Hughes had, in fact, committed to Wisconsin about a month ago, before he returned home to New York.
This gives Ryan one of the top ten classes in the country for 2006. Hughes will sign a Wisconsin tender during the early signing period in November.
