Clifton Geathers, a PrepStar Dream Team All-American offensive tackle from Carvers Bay South Carolina, has not made a commitment. He has an impressive short list that includes Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia Tech, still no known preference or commitment.
Geathers has good size with the potential to get even bigger. Geathers is 6-7, weighs 280 pouonds and has been timed in an outrageous 4.8 seconds. a dedicated worker in the weight room, he bench-presses 350 pounds and squats 530 pounds.
Clifton's blood lines are outstanding. Clifton's brother Robert played for Georgia a few years ago, then went on to play for the Cincinnati Bengals. His
father, Robert, played in the NFL for the Buffalo Bills. Even his uncle, Jumpy, put in time with the Saints, Redskins, Falcons and Broncos.
Coaches and videotape reveal a player with good feet, ong arms with good hands, a great body with a terrifc upside capable of handling another thirty or forty pounds, plus the ability to read the field
well. The only negative, a definite maybe, comment from one coach is that "he's too darned nice."
Clifton has a long and impressive short list of suitors, each with a head coach and star recruiter on him, meaning that someone will have an excellent closing that should result in a commitment, shortly.
